We use a balanced, NePoPo®-inspired approach built around motivation, clear markers, fair structure, and practical communication. Dogs first learn what the cues mean through food, play, praise, leash work, and repetition that makes sense to them.
Tools like the e-collar are introduced thoughtfully only after the dog has a foundation. The goal is not to punish the dog; it is to create reliable communication, better choices, and more freedom in real life.
When used correctly, an e-collar is a communication tool, not a shortcut and not a punishment button. We condition it at a level the dog can understand, pair it with guidance, and use it to support known behaviors around distance and distractions.
Every dog is different, so the plan is fitted to your dog’s temperament, confidence, sensitivity, and goals. If a tool is not appropriate for your dog, we talk through that honestly.
Board-and-train is coming soon. Program details, intake availability, and registration will be announced once the service is ready.
If your dog needs consistent daily structure, real-world exposure, or focused behavior support, start with a free consultation and we can talk through the best current option.
Yes. Training is not one-size-fits-all. Your dog’s plan is shaped around their age, temperament, history, current skills, behavior concerns, and your goals at home.
That may include foundations like sit, down, place, stay, recall, leash manners, neutrality conditioning, e-collar conditioning, or work around non-aggression reactivity and distractions.
Apollo K9 Academy is not accepting aggression cases at this time. If your dog has a bite history or serious safety concern, please disclose that before booking so we can point you toward the right support.
The handoff matters. You will receive coaching on the cues, handling, expectations, and structure your dog has learned so you can keep the progress going at home.
The goal is not for your dog to only listen to the trainer. The goal is for you and your dog to understand each other more clearly and keep building from the work that was started.
In-home training is a strong option when you want hands-on coaching in your own environment and can practice between sessions. It works well for puppy skills, manners, leash work, recall, neutrality, and owner coaching.
Board-and-train may be a better fit when the dog needs more intensive daily structure, more repetition, or focused non-aggression behavior support before the owner transfer begins.
Lasting results come from clear communication, consistent follow-through, and owner participation. We focus on skills your dog can use in real life, then help you understand how to maintain those expectations at home.
Progress is strongest when training becomes part of daily life: calm routines, clear rules, fair accountability, and regular practice.
Please bring vaccination records, your dog’s regular food, any required medications, and a well-fitting flat collar. If your dog has allergies, sensitivities, behavior notes, or routines that help them settle, share those during intake.
Start with a free consultation and we will help you choose the training path that makes the most sense for your dog, your home, and your goals.
